Gemma has been working in finance since 2007 and specialising in newbuild for nearly ten years. With her help, and Acumen, and its Advisers have gone from strength to strength and grown from a purely North West based business to a company that looks after clients nationally. This has been achieved through investment in technology and marketing as well as strong relationships with national housebuilders. Gemma’s main focus within the business is in developing and growing relationships with builders, and lenders to improve the customer experience and encourage the sharing of knowledge. She also helps run the compliance side of the business, ensuring Advisers, and clients are protected.

Acumen pride themselves on mortgages being a personal experience, and Gemma sets an example of this across all her relationships, should that be large national companies, or individual client support.

Rachel James is an Executive Director with over 20 years of experience in financial services. With a background in banking and estate agency, she took the opportunity to move to Acumen Mortgages in 2012. Starting as a mortgage and protection adviser Rachel was able to forge relationships with national housebuilders, and as Acumen grew her career was projected to that of Sales Manager. This new challenge meant Rachel was responsible for leading a team of advisers, along with account managing the introducers to the business, and seeking out additional new business opportunities. Most recently Rachel has progressed to the role she holds today. With a passion for delivering business growth, she sits at the helm of the company, steering it, managing its day-to-day operations, and implementing strategic board decisions to ensure the company’s objectives are achieved.
